Abstract
This study aimed to describe the implementation of the Workplace Learning model supported by nature-themed video media to improve poetry writing skills and learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Belotan 1, Bendo District, Magetan Regency. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection, following the model proposed by Kemmis and McTaggart (1988). The research participants were fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Belotan 1. Data were collected through classroom observations, poetry writing tests, documentation, and field notes. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively by calculating mean scores and learning mastery percentages, while qualitative data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (2014), which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings revealed that the implementation of the Workplace Learning model supported by nature-themed video media improved students' learning activities across almost all observed indicators. Student attendance increased from 97% to 100%, attention during instruction from 86% to 98%, active participation in asking questions and expressing opinions from 38% to 75%, collaborative skills from 54% to 90%, responsibility in completing assignments from 54% to 90%, poetry writing ability from 70% to 90%, timely task completion from 70% to 98%, and the ability to draw conclusions from 54% to 90%. Meanwhile, off-task behaviors during classroom activities decreased from 10.6% to 2.3%. Students' learning outcomes also improved, as indicated by the increase in the average score from 66 in Cycle I to 95 in Cycle II. Therefore, the Workplace Learning model supported by nature-themed video media was effective in improving elementary school students' poetry writing skills and learning outcomes
