Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe and explain the planning of the synthetic analytical structural method with the picture and picture learning technique for beginning reading of students of class 1 SD Negeri Pulorejo 3, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency, (2) describe and explain the implementation of the synthetic analytical structural method with the picture and picture learning technique for beginning reading of students of class 1 SD Negeri Pulorejo 3, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency, and (3) describe and explain the evaluation of the implementation of the synthetic analytical structural method with the picture and picture learning technique for beginning reading of students of class 1 SD Negeri Pulorejo 3, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques in this study are through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study are (1) the planning of learning using the synthetic analytical structural method with the picture and picture learning technique for beginning reading for students in class 1 SD Negeri Pulorejo 3, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency, has used a complete syllabus and lesson plan made by the teacher. The teacher prepares appropriate materials, then prepares media, tools and materials, prepares work steps, student worksheets to measure the extent of understanding in learning, (2) implementation of learning using the synthetic analytical structural method with the picture and picture learning technique in beginning reading for students of class 1 SD Negeri Pulorejo 3, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency, has three stages of activities, namely preliminary activities, core activities using the SAS method (Synthetic Analytical Structural) with the Picture and picture technique in learning, and closing activities, and (3) evaluation of learning using the synthetic analytical structural method with the picture and picture learning technique in beginning reading for students of class 1 SD Negeri Pulorejo 3, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency, using two stages including: 1) Written tests (result tests) in the form of questions, short answers and working on questions, namely essays or subjective with limited essay tests and objective forms, namely with the matching type, 2) Non-tests (process tests) are selected from students' attitudes during the learning process. (4) The advantages and disadvantages of learning using the synthetic analytical structural method with the picture and picture learning technique in beginning reading for students of class 1 SD Negeri Pulorejo 3, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency. There are five advantages, namely: it aligns with concrete thinking patterns, increases learning motivation and enthusiasm, develops logical and systematic thinking patterns, fosters meaningful learning, and accelerates early reading skills. Meanwhile, there are five disadvantages, which include: requiring a substantial amount of preparation time, making classroom management more challenging, risking children guessing rather than actually reading, requiring higher costs and facilities, and being less effective when used for children with visual impairments.
