Abstract

This study aimed to develop a Digital Pop-Up Book learning media based on the discovery learning model to strengthen elementary school students’ reading literacy of local wisdom-based folktales, to determine the feasibility of the developed media, and to identify teachers’ and students’ responses to the media. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of the Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research subjects were 13 third-grade students of SDN Wayut 03. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results showed that the developed media obtained a validation score of 87% from the media expert and 100% from the material and language experts, indicating that the media was highly feasible. The average validation score reached 94%, which was categorized as highly feasible. Both teachers’ and students’ responses achieved a score of 98.6%, indicating that the media was highly attractive. Therefore, the Digital Pop-Up Book based on the Discovery Learning model is feasible for supporting the strengthening of reading literacy in local wisdom-based folktales among elementary school students.
