Abstract

This study aims to describe and explain (1) the use of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by animated videos can improve the writing ability of procedural texts of class VII students of Ma'arif Ngawi Middle School, Ngawi District, Ngawi Regency and (2) the learning outcomes of class VII students of Ma'arif Ngawi Middle School, Ngawi District, Ngawi Regency in learning to write procedural texts using the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by animated videos. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are (1) the use of the project based learning (PjBL) model assisted by animated videos can improve the writing ability of procedural texts of class VII students of Ma'arif Ngawi Middle School, Ngawi District, Ngawi Regency. This is proven by the results of observations that show an increase from cycle I to cycle II in several aspects, including aspects of student enthusiasm during the learning process, student enthusiasm when watching animated videos, the effectiveness and enthusiasm of students when using the project based learning model and animated video media in procedural texts, and student activity and enthusiasm in learning reflection, and (2) the learning outcomes of seventh-grade students of Ma'arif Ngawi Junior High School, Ngawi District, Ngawi Regency in learning to write procedural texts using the project-based learning (PjBL) model with the help of animated videos increased by 7.70% from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I, the average score achieved by students was 82.25, becoming 87.95 in cycle II.
