Improving Listening and Storytelling Skills Through the Implementation of Visual Media-Based Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) for 5th Grade Students of SDN Tondomulo II, Kedungadem District, Bojonegoro Regency. Thesis. Indonesian Master of Language and Literature Education Study Program, Post Graduate Program Universitas PGRI Madiun. Pembimbing (I) Prof. Dr. Marheny Lukitasari, M.Pd.; (II) Dr. Cerianing Putri Pratiwi, S.Pd., M.Pd. Keywords: listening skills, storytelling skills, culturally responsive teaching, visual media. This research was motivated by the low listening and storytelling skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Tondomulo II, Kedungadem District, Bojonegoro Regency. Conventional Indonesian language instruction that lacks cultural relevance has resulted in low student engagement and learning outcomes. Therefore, this study aimed to improve students’ listening and storytelling skills through the implementation of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) supported by visual media. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 14 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, listening and storytelling performance tests, and documentation. The research instruments included observation sheets and assessment rubrics for listening and storytelling skills. Data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ listening and storytelling skills. The average listening score increased from 65.21 in the pre-cycle to 71.43 in Cycle I and 83.57 in Cycle II, with classical mastery reaching 85.71%. Similarly, the average storytelling score improved from 61.79 in the pre-cycle to 72.14 in Cycle I and 84.64 in Cycle II, with 92.86% of students achieving mastery learning.
