Abstract
Qomarudin. Moh, 2025. Implementation of Deep Learning Through the Wayground Platform: A Case Study on Indonesian Language Learning at SDN 1 Sugihwaras. Supervisor I. Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd. Supervisor II. Dr. Muhammad Binur Huda, M.Pd. Master's Study in Indonesian Language Postgraduate at PGRI Madiun University This study aims to examine the implementation of the Wayground Platform in realizing deep learning in Indonesian language subject for fifth grade at SDN 1 Sugihwaras. Deep learning is approached through three principles: joyful, mindful, and meaningful. The research uses a qualitative case study design with the researcher as the primary instrument. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, students, and parents, as well as document studies, which were analyzed thematically. The results indicate that Wayground successfully facilitated the realization of all three deep learning principles. Learning became joyful through interactive and gamified features that triggered students' intrinsic motivation. The mindful aspect was evident from the real-time and structured feedback system that enhanced students' metacognitive awareness. Meanwhile, learning became meaningful as the platform allowed for task modification and redefinition, encouraging collaborative knowledge construction in an authentic context. Key supporting factors included teacher commitment, school infrastructure, and positive student responses. The main obstacles were the digital divide, additional cognitive load, and cultural challenges. This study concludes that Wayground is effective as a catalyst for deep learning when integrated with a strong pedagogical design, while also highlighting the importance of a holistic approach to overcome digital challenges in elementary education transformation.
