Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of Interactive Learning Media (ILM) and digital social literacy on the social studies learning outcomes of 8th-grade students at SMPN 4 Pare in the 2025/2026 academic year. The background of the problem includes monotonous conventional social studies learning, low student motivation, and low digital social literacy, resulting in learning outcomes below the Minimum Competency (KKM). This study aims to examine: (1) the effect of Interactive Learning Media (ILM) on the social studies learning outcomes of eighth-grade students, (2) the effect of digital social literacy on social studies learning outcomes, and (3) the simultaneous effect of ILM and digital social literacy on the social studies learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMPN 4 Pare. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pre-test-post-test non-equivalent control group design was used. The population of all eighth-grade students (355 students), a sample of 67 students (34 students in experimental class 8A using ILM, 33 students in control class 8B using conventional methods) was selected through purposive sampling. Primary data from the social studies test and the Likert-based digital social literacy questionnaire were analyzed using prerequisite tests (Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality, Levene's homogeneity), two-way ANOVA, and Scheffe (α=0.05). The results showed that MPI had a significant effect (Sig. 0.004), digital social literacy had a significant effect (Sig. 0.003), and simultaneously had a significant effect (Sig. 0.004), with a higher N-Gain in the experimental group. Conclusion: The integration of ILM and digital social literacy effectively improved social studies learning outcomes. Recommendation: Teachers should develop digital-based interactive media33 for 21st-century pedagogy.
