Abstract
M. Zainal Asrori. 2025. The Use of Project-Based Learning Method in Teaching Pantun Writing to Fourth Grade Students of SD Negeri Mojoseto, Gondang District, Nganjuk Regency. Thesis. Madiun: Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Advisors: (I) Dr. V. Teguh Suharto, M.Pd., (II) Dr. Sigit Ricahyono, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: Project-Based Learning, pantun writing, elementary school students. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) method in teaching pantun writing, reviewed from the learning interest of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri Mojoseto, Gondang District, Nganjuk Regency. The background of this research is the low pantun writing ability of students and the lack of variation in teaching methods that can foster learning interest. The research method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental approach. The research sample consisted of two classes: an experimental class using the PjBL method and a control class using conventional methods. The research instruments included a learning interest questionnaire and a pantun writing test. The data obtained were analyzed using statistical tests to determine differences in learning outcomes between the two classes, as well as interaction analysis between the learning method and students’ learning interest. The results showed that there was a significant difference in pantun writing ability between students who learned using the PjBL method and those who learned using conventional methods. Furthermore, it was found that students with high learning interest performed better in pantun writing, especially when the PjBL method was applied. Thus, it can be concluded that the Project-Based Learning method is effective in teaching pantun writing, particularly for students with high learning interest. The implications of this study highlight the importance of implementing innovative and student-centered teaching methods to improve writing skills and foster learning interest.
