Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of the Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review (SQ3R) learning strategy combined with Chromebook-based media on students’ literacy skills at SD Negeri 2 Mojorembun in the 2025/2026 academic year. The research employed a pre-experimental design with an intact group comparison, comparing one class that received the treatment with another class that did not. The research instrument was a literacy test that had been validated for content validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test to determine differences in mean literacy scores between the experimental and control groups. The findings showed that the calculated t value was 6.39 with df = 48, while the critical t value at the 5% significance level was 2.021. Since tcalculated > tcritical (6.39 > 2.021), H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. This conclusion is supported by differences in the mean scores, namely 87.84 for the experimental group and 78.80 for the control group. These results indicate that the application of the SQ3R strategy using Chromebook media significantly enhances students’ literacy skills, particularly in reading comprehension, identifying main ideas, making inferences, and relating information to real-life contexts. In conclusion, the implementation of the SQ3R strategy supported by Chromebook media has a positive and significant effect on improving elementary students’ literacy abilities.
