Abstract
ABSTRACT Sri Rahmawati, 2025. The Influence of Contextual Learning Models and Learning Motivation on Guided Poetry Writing Skills Using Colored Image Media Among Fifth-Grade Students of SD Negeri 2 Bandung, Prambon District, Nganjuk Regency. Thesis. Madiun: Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Advisors: (I) Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., (II) Dr. Muhammad Binur Huda, M.Pd. Keywords: Contextual Learning Model, Learning Motivation, Guided Poetry Writing, Colored Image Media. This study aims to implement and analyze the influence of the Contextual Learning Model and Learning Motivation on Guided Poetry Writing skills using colored image media. Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) is an instructional approach that links subject matter to students' real-world situations, encouraging them to connect knowledge with their daily lives. Learning motivation is an internal drive within students to achieve success in the teaching and learning process. This drive generates enthusiasm and passion for learning, enabling students to achieve maximum learning outcomes, emphasizing the importance of both intrinsic (internal) and extrinsic (external) motivation. Guidance in poetry writing is crucial as it helps students develop self-expression skills, improve language comprehension, and deepen literary appreciation. Writing poetry is not merely about putting words on paper; it involves a creative process requiring understanding, imagination, and technical skills. The benefits of using colored image media in poetry writing instruction include increasing student interest and motivation, facilitating the emergence of creative ideas, expanding comprehension and vocabulary, and visualizing abstract concepts. These elements combined make the process of learning to write poetry more engaging and effective for students.
