Abstract
ABSTRACT THE IMPLEMENTATION OF EXPLORATORY STRATEGY UTILIZING ENVIRONMENT IN FREE POETRY WRITING LEARNING FOR 5TH GRADE STUDENTS OF SDN DOLOPO 02 By ITA YULLISTIANASARI This study aims to implement an exploratory strategy utilizing the environment in free poetry writing learning for 5th-grade students of SDN Dolopo 02. The research was conducted due to the importance of integrating the surrounding environment as a source of inspiration to enhance students' creativity in writing. This study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with a cycle design. The subjects were 22 students of 5th grade. The research process consisted of two cycles, each including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results showed that the implementation of the exploratory strategy utilizing the environment improved students' ability in writing free poetry, with significant improvements in creativity, language use, and depth of meaning. Additionally, the learning process increased students' active participation and motivation. The average score of students' poetry writing skills increased from 15.23 in the first cycle to 20.36 in the second cycle. The conclusion is that the implementation of the exploratory strategy utilizing the environment can enhance students' creativity and writing skills. This study is expected to be a reference for teachers in designing more innovative and contextual learning strategies to improve the quality of elementary education.
