Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of multicultural education in Pancasila learning and to determine students' perceptions of the application of multicultural education in Pancasila learning in forming tolerance in grade X and XI students of SMKN 1 Geger, Madiun Regency, academic year 2024/2025. This research is qualitative using a case study approach. The research subjects consisted of one deputy head of curriculum, one PPKn teacher, and six students: three Papuan and three Javanese students, selected using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis employed the Miles and Huberman model, which included data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results indicate that multicultural education has been implemented through Pancasila learning, both through curriculum approaches, learning methods, and extracurricular activities. This study confirms that the consistent implementation of multicultural education significantly shapes students' attitudes of tolerance. This research is expected to contribute to the development of multicultural education in vocational high schools and strengthen Pancasila values, such as mutual respect for religious differences (the first principle), respect for fellow human beings without discrimination (the second principle), unity amidst diversity (the third principle), acceptance of differences of opinion in deliberation (the fourth principle), and fairness toward differences (the fifth principle) in students' social interactions.
