Abstract

This research aims to develop an Information and Communication Technology (ICT)-based e-book learning media to improve fifth-grade elementary school students' short story reading skills. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The validation process was conducted by subject matter, language, and media experts, and piloted with students and teachers at SDN Banjarsari 01. The validation results indicated that the e-book was highly suitable for use, with a validity score of 95.4% from the media experts and 93.3% from the subject matter and language experts. Teacher and student responses were also very positive, with scores of 87.5% and 89.7%, respectively. The evaluation results showed an increase in short story reading skills, with an average posttest score of 82.3%. This e-book presents short story material interactively through text, audiovisuals, and evaluation, which can be accessed flexibly, effectively increasing student participation and understanding in Indonesian language learning.
