Abstract

This study aims to improve the procedural text writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN Jiwan 01 through the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by Education Board media. The problems faced include the students' low ability to write systematic and well-structured procedural texts, as well as the lack of variety in the teaching models and media used by teachers. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, involving 28 fifth-grade students as subjects. Data were collected through observation, tests, and interviews, and were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study show a significant improvement in students' writing skills after the application of the PjBL model using Education Board media. Students became more active, creative, and capable of composing procedural texts with appropriate structure and language. The percentage of students meeting the learning criteria increased from 53.57% in the pre-cycle to 71.42% in Cycle I, and 85.71% in Cycle II. The use of the Education Board media also proved to enhance student participation in learning and helped them understand the material visually and systematically. Therefore, the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model assisted by Education Board media is effective in improving procedural text writing skills among elementary school students.
