Abstract

This research is motivated by the low cognitive learning outcomes of students in mathematics learning, especially in the material of spatial figures in fifth grade elementary school. This is caused by conventional learning methods and the use of less innovative media, this study aims to determine the effectiveness of the RME approach assisted by Assemblr Edu media based on Augmented Reality on the cognitive learning outcomes of fifth grade elementary school students in the material of spatial figures, the research method used is quantitative with a true experimental design type posttest only control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class, each consisting of 23 students. The results of the Shapiro-Wilk normality test showed that the posttest data from both classes were normally distributed, with a significance value of 0.337 for the control class and 0.149 for the experimental class (sig > 0.05). The homogeneity test showed that the variances of both groups were homogeneous, with a significance value of 0.668 (sig > 0.05). Data were collected through cognitive learning outcome tests and analyzed using statistical tests with the help of SPSS 25. The results showed that the average posttest score for the experimental class was 82.17 and the control class was 72.61, with a t-test showing a significant difference between the two. Thus, it can be concluded that the RME approach assisted by Assemblr Edu media is effective in improving students' cognitive learning outcomes in spatial geometry.
