Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Learning Cycle learning model assisted by animated film media and the Direct Instruction method on junior high school students' mathematics learning outcomes, and to review the effect of students' learning interests on these outcomes. The research method used is an experiment with a control and treatment group design. The research sample consisted of grade VII junior high school students at MTsn 4 Ngawi, who were divided into two groups: one group used the Learning Cycle model with animated film media, and the other group used the Direct Instruction method. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and learning interest questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out using two-way ANOVA to determine significant differences between groups. The results of the study showed that there were significant differences in mathematics learning outcomes between students taught with the Learning Cycle model and students taught with Direct Instruction. In addition, students' learning interests also influenced learning outcomes, where students with high learning interests showed better results. This study concluded that the use of animated film media in the Learning Cycle model can improve junior high school students' mathematics learning outcomes, and students' learning interests are an important factor influencing learning success. Recommendations are given for the implementation of more innovative and interesting learning methods to improve students' interest and learning outcomes.
