ABSTRACT Abidin, R. 2024. Improving Speaking Skills Through Serial Picture Media for Grade IV Students of Menggare Elementary School, Ponorogo Regency Academic Year 2024/2025. Thesis. Madiun: Master of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Postgraduate Studies, PGRI Madiun University. Supervisor (1) Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, S.S., M.Pd., (II) Dr. Agung Nasrulloh Saputro, M.Pd. Keywords: speaking ability, serial image media This research is motivated by the low learning achievement of students in the Indonesian language subject, especially in the material of retelling story texts. This is because the delivery of the material is less interesting and is not accompanied by supporting media, so that students' interest and understanding of retelling story texts. The use of serial picture media can improve learning achievement in speaking to retell a topic of interest with good intonation, because it uses interesting media so that students are able to speak in front of the class with communicative language. This study aims to improve student learning achievement in the material of retelling information that is read or heard fluently and accurately, by using a serial picture media model. This type of research is PTK, this action research consists of two cycles, the stages of each cycle start from initial observation, planning, action, observation/observation and reflection on data analysis. Data collected through observation,and tests of speaking on all 14 students in class IV of SD Negeri Menggare for the 2024/2025 academic year. The results of research on speaking skills aachievment, in cycle I classical completeness was 64 %, and in cycle II completeness classic at 100%. Classical mastery of story speaking skills based on series of pictures has increased by 36%. Based on the results above, it can be said that using series of picture media in speaking children's can get good results. This shows that the teacher succeeded in using series of picture media to improve speaking abilitiy or retelling story texts, the use of series image media can also increase students' learning motivation.
