Abstract

Observations at SDN III Bugelan, mathematics learning outcomes were still relatively low, which was caused by teachers explaining the material only using textbooks and worksheet books which were black and white. Learning still applies a teacher center when asked, only one or two answered, not all students answered evenly, therefore there is a need to apply varied learning models and varied media, namely by implementing a time token arcade type cooperative learning model assisted by smart box media. The aim of this research is to determine the application of the time token arcade type cooperative learning model assisted by smart box media in improving elementary school students' mathematics learning outcomes. This research method uses a qualitative approach and a quantitative approach with the type of Classroom Action Research. This Classroom Action Research is carried out by researchers or teachers. Researchers took a sample of class V students at SDN III Bugelan sub-district. Kismataoro, Kab. Wonogiri with 23 students. This research was carried out in 2 cycles, with 3 meetings in each cycle. Each meeting consists of initial, core and closing activities. referring to the cooperative learning syntax of the time token arcade type, namely conveying learning objectives, forming groups, giving assignments (LKPD), giving coupons, giving coupons back to the teacher before answering, evaluating and giving awards. The pretest score results had an average of 57, the first cycle test was 72 and the second cycle test was 90. The percentage of students' Classical Completeness in the pretest was 40%, in the first cycle test was 65% and in the second cycle test was 88%. So there was an increase in the pretest to cycle I of 25% and in cycle I to cycle II there was an increase of 23%. So it can be said that the learning activities have gone well. So this research shows that the cooperative learning model of the time token arena type can improve the mathematics learning outcomes of elementary school students Keywords: cooperative learning model time token arena type, smart box media, learning outcomes.
