Abstract
This research is motivated by the fact that today's adolescents are often influenced by unhealthy fictional stories by adopting negative values. It is feared that the teenager will make the character of the character an inspiration or the worst possibility of the teenager may justify the behavior of the character. The purpose of this study is to analyze the character of the character in the novel Daun yang Jatuh Tak Pernah Membenci Angin by Tere Liye and examines the implications of the character character in the novel Daun yang Jatuh Tak Pernah Membenci Angin by Tere Liye on the formation of adolescent characters. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. The data source used is the novel "Daun yang Jatuh Tak Pernah Membenci Angin" written by Tere Liye. The respondents in this study were two grade VIII students and one grade VII student who attended Ponorogo Integrated Junior High School. The data collection techniques in this study are questionnaires, observations, and interviews. The researcher gave a questionnaire to the respondents to find out their impressions after reading the novel. After that, an observation process was carried out on the three respondents to find out the changes in attitude and character after reading the novel. To support observation, the researcher conducted interviews with the three respondents to find out the changes in their attitudes and characters. The results of this study show that there are 7 characters who often appear in the novel Daun yang Jatuh Tak Pernah Membenci Angin by Tere Liye. This novel has an unusual teenage love story. But behind the romantic story, the character and attitude of each character are able to inspire readers. Based on the results of questionnaires and interviews, the novel Daun yang Jatuh Tak Pernah Membenci Angin written by Tere Liye still has not had an impact on the formation of the characters of the three respondents. They were inspired by other types of reading. It should be noted that there are two respondents who have read adult readings which if left unchecked, will have a bad impact on the formation of the character of the two respondents. Meanwhile, one respondent often gets carried away by his character when reading a story. The emotions felt are still labile so they need assistance in choosing the type of reading.
