Abstract

This study aims to describe the learning of short stories during Indonesian language learning in class, to describe the improvement of free writing skills on short stories through the song imagination suggestion method, and to describe the evaluation of free writing in students in class XI AKL 1 SMK Negeri 2 Madiun. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects were students of class XI AKL 1 SMK Negeri 2 Madiun. Data collection techniques with observation, photo documentation, interviews. Data analysis techniques used in this research are qualitative data analysis techniques and quantitative analysis techniques. The results obtained in this study include 1) Improvement of short story writing skills using the song imagination suggestion method on short stories in class XI AKL 1 students of SMK Negeri 2 Madiun. 2) Changes in the behaviour of students in a positive direction with the understanding and skills of students in writing short stories obtained through the actions of cycle I and cycle II.
