Abstract

Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant health concern in Indonesia, including in Ngawi Regency. One of the factors contributing to the increasing number of Tuberculosis cases is patient adherence, where patient compliance with medication can improve Tuberculosis cure rates and reduce the spread of M. tuberculosis bacteria. This analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design aims to analyze factors affecting medication adherence among pulmonary TB patients in Ngawi Regency based on Lawrence Green's theory. Involving 101 respondents selected using purposive sampling technique, this study collected data through interviews using questionnaires. The variables studied include predisposing factors, enabling factors (access to health services), and reinforcing factors. Bivariate analysis results using Chi-Square test yielded p-values for age (0.124), gender (0.849), education level (0.882), occupation (0.805), marital status (0.387), duration of treatment (<0.001), comorbid diseases (0.307), motivation to recover (0.010), self-perception (<0.001), knowledge (<0.001), access to health facilities (<0.001), treatment supporter (<0.001), health workers' activeness (0.531), and family support (<0.001). The conclusion of this study is that there are significant influences of treatment duration, motivation to recover, self-perception, knowledge, access to health facilities, treatment supporters, and family support on medication adherence among Tuberculosis patients in Ngawi Regency.
