Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the use of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) based learning can affect students' critical thinking skills in natural and social science (IPAS) subjects. This study uses a quantitative approach with a sample of 28 students from grades IV A and B of SD Negeri 01 Nambangan Kidul, Madiun City. The design of this study is Non Equivalent Control Group Design, in this study the author used tests to collect data, namely pre-test and post-test. This test consists of 5 subjective questions or essays related to the IPAS subject, focusing on "my material and my needs." From the results of data analysis using t-test results using IBM SPSS 22 software, it is known that the t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results of the student test after using CRT-based learning obtained an average score of 86, while for conventional learning the average score was 70, and the results of the t-test showed a calculated t value of 5.391> t table 1.706. Therefore, it can be decided that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of CRT-based learning on critical thinking skills of fourth grade students of SDN 01 Nambangan Kidul, Madiun City.
