Abstract
Education is needed not only in the school environment but also in public. Through education, we can become intelligent, creative, capable, talented, strong personality and responsible. In school, teachers ensure that learning material is delivered to students with using various learning methods that can be used when carry out the learning process. Learning methods are methods that teachers use in the teaching and learning process, and are expected to using learning methods that have been adapted to the material Lessons enable students to better understand the material presented by the teacher. By using discovery learning and gift learning methods Rewards can increase students' interest in learning. Interest in learning is very important because if a student does not have an interest in learning then he will influence on academic results. Learning methods are used discovery learning and giving rewards chosen according to the material learning then educational goals can be achieved. And create an atmosphere the classroom environment becomes comfortable, conducive, so that students are more enthusiastic about pay attention to the teacher in delivering the material and be able to remember the material which has been submitted. It can be said that the role of learning methods is very important necessary so that students' interest in learning increases, which can have an effect on academic results. This research aims to determine the effect of method discovery learning and giving rewards for interest in learning students in Civics subjects at SMPN 1 Jiwan, Madiun Regency It is hoped that it can increase students' interest in learning. Research methods used in this research is quantitative research with a population of 274 students. The sample in this study was 32 experimental class students and 30 control class students. Results of this research shows that 1) there is the influence of discovery learning methods on the learning interest of class VIII students at SMPN 1 Jiwan in Civics subjects with a value of tcount (1.6946) > ttable (1.6698); 2) there is an influence of giving rewards on the learning interest of class VIII students at SMPN 1 Jiwan with a tcount value of (1.6854) > ttable(1.6698); 3) there is the influence of discovery learning and learning methods giving rewards for interest in studying class VIII Civics subjects at SMPN 1 Jiwan tcount (31.4496) > ttable (1.6698).
