Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of the Make a Match learning model using sentence cards, and assess the advantages and disadvantages of this model in improving students' pantun writing skills. This research uses the Classroom Action Research method which is carried out in two cycles. Data collected through observation, tests and documentation of all 12 class V students at SD Negeri Crabak for the 2023/2024 academic year. The data collected was analyzed using qualitative descriptive and quantitative descriptive techniques. The results of research on pantun writing skills, in first cycle classical completeness was 66,7%, and in second cycle classical completeness was 91,7%. Classical mastery of pantun writing skills has increased by 25%. The results of the research show that the application of the Make a Match learning model and sentence card media can improve the rhyme writing skills of fifth grade students at SD Negeri Crabak for the 2023/2024 academic year. The advantages of this model include improving writing skills, facilitating student collaboration, encouraging active learning. Meanwhile, the disadvantages include that it takes time, provides challenges for students who are less proficient in writing.
