Abstract

This research aims to describe and explain (1) the use of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model using comic media to improve the skills of rewriting story content in class V students at SDN Sumengko, Kwadungan District, and (2) the activities of class V students at SDN Sumengko, Kwadungan District, Ngawi Regency, is learning to rewrite story content through the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model using comic media. This research is classroom action research using two cycles. The results of this research are (1) the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model using comic media in Indonesian language learning aspects of rewriting story content skills in class V at SDN Sumengko, Kwadungan District, Ngawi Regency can increase student activity. This is shown by the results of observing student activities in the implementation of the first cycle of action, obtaining a score of 21 with an average score of 2.33. In cycle II, student activity increased with a score of 25.64 with an average score of 2.85. (2) The activities of class V students at SDN Sumengko, Kwadungan District, Ngawi Regency in learning to rewrite story content through the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model using comic media showed that the evaluation results at the end of learning in each cycle obtained data in cycle I with a value lowest 55, highest score 85, average class 67.2 and classical completeness 44%. In the implementation of the second cycle of action, the results of students' writing skills were obtained with the lowest score of 65, the highest score of 90, an average of 78.2 and a classical completion percentage of 92%.
