Abstract

ABSTRACT Anik Tri Cahyani, 2025. "Improving Descriptive Text Writing Skills Through Learning Using Outbound Techniques for Fifth Grade Students of SDN Plancungan, Slahung Subdistrict, Ponorogo Regency, Academic Year 2024/2025." Thesis. Madiun: Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Advisors (1) Dr. Teguh Suharto, M.Pd. (II) Dr. Agung Nasrulloh Saputro, M.Pd. Keywords: Writing, text, description, Outbound. Fifth-grade students at SDN Plancungan had low levels of activity and writing skills. To address this issue, the outbound technique was applied in writing lessons, aiming to improve student engagement and descriptive text writing skills. This is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) study with a qualitative descriptive research method. The research subjects were fifth-grade students at SDN Plancungan, conducted over two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques included written tests, observations, interviews, documentation, and reflections. The results of the research showed that in Cycle I, 18.18% of students met the good criteria, while in Cycle II, 81.82% met the sufficient criteria. By Cycle II, 100% of students met the good criteria. In Cycle I, 18.18% of students completed the tasks successfully, while 81.82% did not. In Cycle II, 100% of students successfully completed the descriptive text writing tasks. This demonstrates that the quality of learning and descriptive text writing skills of the fifth-grade students at SDN Plancungan improved after using the outbound technique.
