Pembimbing (1) Dr. Dwi Setyadi, Pembimbing (2) Dr. Agung Nasrulloh Saputro,M.Pd Keywords: Application of the Jigsaw Learning Model, Image Media, Writing Descriptive Paragraphs This research aims to describe (1) the application of the jigsaw learning model and image media to improve the descriptive paragraph writing skills of grade 4 students at SDN Mruwak 01, (2) Explain the obstacles faced in the application of the jigsaw learning model and image media to improve paragraph writing skills descriptive for grade 4 students at SDN Mruwak 01, (3) explaining solutions that can be implemented in applying the jigsaw learning model and image media to improve the ability to write descriptive paragraphs for grade 4 students at SDN Mruwak 01. This research was carried out in class 4 at SDN Mruwak 01 from July to December 2024. The research method used was a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of this research were 4th grade students at SDN Mruwak 01, Dagangan District, Madiun Regency. Data validity technique using triangulation. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews and document analysis. The data collection instruments in this research are interviews, observation and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and verification. The results of this research are (1) The learning process of writing descriptive paragraphs using the jigsaw learning model and picture media for class 4 students at SDN Mruwak 01 Dagangan District, Madiun Regency with data collection carried out through interviews with informants, observation of learning activities in class, as well as document studies of ATP, teaching modules, and other documents related to learning to write descriptive paragraphs. (2) Time constraints are an obstacle in writing descriptive paragraphs. Apart from that, it is also difficult for students to express ideas in writing and in writing there are still many ineffective sentences. (3) The solution to the problems faced in applying the jigsaw learning model and image media in descriptive paragraph learning which is related to time constraints is that the teacher must really design writing learning activities as thoroughly as possible. Learning models and learning media should be prepared well. This also includes preparing the flow or steps of learning activities and the forms of assessment and assignments given. Apart from that, the form of assignment can be designed in the form of a project which is carried out in stages for several meetings. This means that they feel unable to compose good sentences. They always have doubts about writing good sentences and in accordance with Indonesian language rules. Insights related to spelling and effective sentence use. . The results of using image media and the jigsaw learning model in learning descriptive writing show that out of 16 students, 6 students (25%) got good grades in writing descriptive paragraphs while 10 students got very good grades with a percentage of 75%. Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that the application of the jigsaw learning model and image media can improve student learning outcomes in the very good category.
