Abstract

This research aims to describe and explain (1) the application of learning speaking skills using the demonstration method with realia learning media in class III students at SDN 3 Kesugihan, Pulung subdistrict, Ponorogo district and (2) student learning outcomes in learning speaking skills using the demonstration method with realia learning media in class III students at SDN 3 Kesugihan, Pulung District, Ponorogo Regency. This research is classroom action research using two cycles. The results of this research are (1) the demonstration method using realia media is very effective for use in efforts to improve speaking skills in class III students at SDN 3 Kesugihan, Pulung District, Ponorogo Regency. This is done to help students improve their speaking skills by implementing active student learning strategies, namely the demonstration method. The application of the demonstration method assisted by realia media is an appropriate method to use in learning with the aim of providing skills, reducing the use of monotonous language, and helping students to make it easier for students to clearly understand a process or activity because it is presented in the form of a demonstration and uses concrete objects so that more interesting and efficient, and (2) The student results are in accordance with the data in the research results stating that a total of 5 students or 84% of the total number of students 6 students have completed the learning, while the number of students who have not completed is 1 student or 16% of the total number of students a total of 6 students. This shows that the learning carried out is good. The average score of students is also 82.11%, achieving a KKM score of ≥70. So the researchers assume that improving speaking skills using the demonstration method with realia media in class III students at SDN 3 Kesugihan, Pulung subdistrict, Ponorogo district in cycle II resulted in a significant increase and it can be said that this action was successful.
