Abstract
Writing is one of the most difficult and complex language skills, this is because writing skills involve three other language components, namely reading skills, listening skills, and speaking skills. The formulation of the problem in this research is, How active are students in writing persuasive essays using the Problem-Based Learning model in class VI students at SDN 7 Slahung, Slahung District, Ponorogo Regency, academic year 2024/2025? and How can the Problem-Based Learning model improve the skills of writing persuasive essays in class VI students at SDN 7 Slahung, Slahung District, Ponorogo Regency, academic year 2024/2025? The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach, with the type of classroom action research. In this study, researchers collaborated with other teachers and with the principal. Researchers were directly involved in the research from the beginning to the end of the research. Researchers try to see, observe, pay attention, feel, appreciate, reflect and evaluate the learning activities that take place. The stages of implementing action research consist of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data collection techniques in this research are tests and observations. From the research results, it was found that there was an increase in the skill of writing persuasive essays through the Problem-Based Learning model in class VI students at SDN 7 Slahung, Slahung District, Ponorogo Regency for the 2024/2025 academic year. average with 3 stages, namely in the pre-cycle 17.75 = 71.53, in cycle 1 17.75 = 82.16 and in cycle II 21.33 = 85.33. The percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes only reached 50%, in the next cycle it reached 83.33%. Based on reflection on data analysis and observation of student activities from a score of 12 in cycle I to 14 in cycle II. Likewise, teacher activity increased from cycle I, with a score of 65 = 77.38% to 75 = 89.29%.
