Abstract

Every literary work is created with the psychological condition of the character, through its characterization that can be interpreted by the readers. Likewise with the Novel Moga Bunda Disayang Allah by Tere Liye. This novel can be studied from several perspectives according to the interests of the readers and researchers. This study aims to describe and explain the characterization, psychological condition, and psychological condition of the adversity quotient experienced by the main character. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The descriptive method in this study was carried out by describing data related to the formulation of the problem and the objectives of the study. The researcher used qualitative data with the aim that the data obtained would produce a direct description related to the object of the study. The data collection technique used was literature study or document analysis. Data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively with an emphasis on critical analysis and content analysis. The data sources used were documents. Based on the results of the study and data analysis, the following conclusions can be drawn. Melati's characterization is a blind, deaf, and mute child who has a high curiosity and is angry. Melati's psychological condition is the same as other humans, having an Id, ego, and superego based on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic personality theory. Melati has a high adversity quotient or fighting spirit based on Paul G. Stoltz's adversity quotient theory.
