Abstract
Understanding the Rules of the Volleyball Game is a person's ability to understand and apply the rules that govern how to play volleyball. This study aims to find out how the level of understanding of volleyball rules in junior age group athletes at the NVC Ngawi club is. This research is a qualitative descriptive research using the triangulation method which includes questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The respondents in this study were 30 athletes from the age group of the NVC Ngawi junior club with data collection using questionnaires and interviews. The data analysis technique uses qualitative descriptive statistical techniques with percentages. The results of the study showed that the level of understanding of the rules of volleyball for junior athletes at Club NVC Ngawi varied, although the majority of athletes had a good understanding of the rules of volleyball, with 62.2% of athletes showing high understanding and 37.5% of athletes showing moderate understanding. However, from the results of the interviews, it can be seen that some athletes still have difficulty in explaining the rules in detail, especially in technical aspects such as court settings and player positions. Therefore, there needs to be further efforts to improve athletes' understanding of these aspects through more intensive training and guidance.
