Abstract

The study aims to find out whether the learning model of Problem Based Learning with an Swan’s Egg media can improve the understanding of the concept of measuring distance for students of the second grade of SDN Kraton 2 Maospati district of Magetan in the 2023/2024 academic year. This research is behind the background by the poor learning achievement of students in mathematics subjects in particular matter measuring distances. This research is a class action study. The research will take place in May 2024. The subject of this study is a student of SDN Kraton 2 Maospati district of Magetan in 2023/2024. The data collection techniques used in this study are observations or observations and tests to determine student learning achievements. In this study, the entire population was taken as a sample or as a subject of research. Thus, this research includes population research. The total research subjects of 15 students consisted of 7 sons and 8 daughters. This study was carried out in two cycles as presented above can be drawn the conclusion that learning Model Problem Based Learning has been shown to improve student learning performance in learning Mathematics in students of Class II SDN Kraton 2 Maospati district of Magetan year 2023/2024. This is demonstrated by the average score of learning achievement before taking action was 58.66, after taking cycle I action to 61.33, and after taking action improvement in cycle II the average value increased to 76.00 and also proved by the outcome of the percentage of the students' learning accomplishment from the initial condition of 20% rose to 60% and increased again in the second cycle to 100%.
