Abstract
The purpose of the study was to determine how the use of the directed reading thinking activity (DRTA) learning model assisted by digital story text media has an impact on students' critical thinking skills in grade IV of elementary school. The study used a quantitative method. In this study, the original experimental design was used, so the concept of post-test only control was used. The study involved 52 students from SDN 04 Manisrejo and SDN 01 Josenan in Madiun city. Random sampling is a sampling technique in which samples are selected randomly. In the study, the sample consisted of 32 students, 16 of whom were in class A as the experimental class and 16 of whom were in class B as the control class. The data collection method used testing and direction. The results of the data analysis showed differences between the 16 students in the experimental class, with an average of 86.25, while the control class was 16 students with an average of 57.93. The results of the hypothesis test were known Ttable 2.0422 with a significance of 5% 0.05. Tcount 6.6411> (Ttable) 2.0422. It can be concluded that this study shows the influence of the directed reading thinking activity (DRTA) model assisted by digital story text media on the critical thinking of fourth grade elementary school students.
