Abstract

This study aims to describe and explain (1) the aplication of work based learning model assisted by video media can improve poetry writing skills in fifth grade student at SD Negeri Sidowarek 2,(2) the learning outcomes of fifth grade students in learning to write poetry using work based learning model assisted by video media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The result showed that aplication of work based learning model assisted by video media can improve poetry writing skills. In cycle I, 97% of students were present, 86% paid attention, 38% activety asked question, 54% work together, 70% were able to compose poems.In cycle II, there was an increase: 100% present, 98% paid attention, 75% actively asked questions, 90% work together, 90% were able to compose poetry, and 88% read poetry infront of the class. It can be concluded that the work based learning model assisted by video media is effective in improving students 'poetry writing skills'.
