Abstract

This study is motivated by students’ tendency to solve problems procedurally without understanding their contextual meaning, a condition that persists despite the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and adequate school technology facilities. This indicates that presenting contextual problems alone is insufficient to build conceptual understanding without structured scaffolding media. Accordingly, this study developed an RME-based learning website to improve students’ conceptual understanding of Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV). Using the ADDIE model, the website integrates contextual problems, GeoGebra simulations, an SPLDV calculator, instructional videos, and practice exercises with immediate feedback. Validation showed very high validity (96,43%) and practicality (students: 98,84% limited trial, 91,85% field trial; teacher: 99%). A paired-sample t-test revealed a significant pretest–posttest difference (p = 0.000), with medium N-Gain scores (0,40 limited trial; 0,46 field trial), indicating effectiveness in improving conceptual understanding, particularly in mathematical modeling and relating concepts to real contexts. The RME-based website is concluded to be valid, practical, and effective for contextual and participatory SLETV learning.
