Abstract
Managing spare part inventory in a mobile phone service store requires proper planning to prevent both stock shortages and overstocking, which may disrupt operational activities and customer service. At Glory Cell Madiun, the process of recording sales data and determining spare part requirements is still performed manually, resulting in inaccuracies when estimating inventory needs for the following period. This study aims to design and develop a web-based spare part demand prediction system using the Single Exponential Smoothing (SES) method as the forecasting technique. The system was developed using the Next.js framework, MySQL database, and the Agile software development methodology. In addition, the system implements the Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) concept to ensure that each user is granted access according to their respective roles and responsibilities. Historical spare part sales data are used as the basis for forecasting future inventory requirements. The accuracy of the forecasting results is evaluated using Mean Squared Error (MSE) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The results of this study indicate that the developed system is capable of automatically generating spare part demand forecasts with a satisfactory level of accuracy. Furthermore, the system provides valuable information to support decision-making in inventory management. The implementation of this system improves the efficiency and effectiveness of inventory management while minimizing the risks of both stock shortages and excess inventory.
