Abstract
This research is based on the field problem of low learning outcomes in IPAS (landforms topic) among third-grade students of SDN 3 Sawoo, caused by the suboptimal use of varied instructional media and the low active participation of students in the learning process. Initial observations showed that out of 29 students, only 9 (31.00%) achieved the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) with an average score of 56.55. This study aims to improve learning outcomes through the use of picture card media combined with a cooperative approach. This Classroom Action Research (CAR) employed the Kemmis & McTaggart model (planning, action, observation, and reflection), conducted over two cycles involving all third-grade students as research subjects. Data were collected through tests, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. The results showed consistent improvement, with the average score rising from 56.55 (pre-cycle) to 71.03 (cycle I) and 83.79 (cycle II); learning mastery increased from 31.00% to 72.41% and 86.21%. It is concluded that picture card media with a cooperative approach effectively improves the IPAS learning outcomes of third-grade students at SDN 3 Sawoo and is worthy of being an innovative alternative media for teachers to create more interactive and meaningful learning experiences.
