Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach assisted by geoboard media on students' mathematical problem-solving skills in the topic of the perimeter of composite plane figures. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretestposttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 37 fifth-grade students from SDN Balerejo 01 and SDN Balerejo 02. Data analysis in this study included tests of normality, balance tests, and hypothesis testing. The results showed that learning using the CTL approach assisted by geoboard media provided a better improvement in problem-solving skills compared to conventional learning. This approach helps students understand concepts contextually, actively engage in learning, and more easily visualize the perimeter of composite plane figures. Therefore, the CTL approach assisted by geoboard media is effectively used in elementary school mathematics learning.
