Keywords: writing, description, keyword techniques, and primary object media This study aims to describe and explain (1) the application of keyword techniques assisted by primary object media can improve descriptive writing in fifth-grade students of SDN Sumberejo, Balong District, Ponorogo Regency and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of SDN Sumberejo, Balong District, Ponorogo Regency in learning to write descriptions using keyword techniques assisted by primary object media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The conclusion of this study is (1) the application of keyword techniques assisted by primary object media can improve descriptive writing in fifth-grade students of SDN Sumberejo, Balong District, Ponorogo Regency. This is evidenced by the achievement of a number of predetermined indicators. The achievement of these indicators includes increased activity, attention and concentration, as well as student interest and motivation in the learning process. In addition, the shortcomings encountered in cycle I can be addressed well by the teacher in cycle II. In cycle II, students are more active during the learning process, students pay more attention to the teacher's explanation and have high motivation in learning, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of SDN Sumberejo, Balong District, Ponorogo Regency in learning to write descriptions using keyword techniques assisted by primary object media have increased. This is evidenced by the average score of student learning outcomes in cycle I with a score of 68. In cycle II, the average score of student learning outcomes increased to a score of 94. Learning completeness in cycle I was achieved by 18 (47%) students, while in cycle II, 38 (100%) students achieved learning completeness and classical learning completeness was achieved.
