Abstract

The development of innovative learning media is needed to overcome students' difficulties in understanding fractions, which remain one of the most challenging topics in elementary school mathematics education. This study aims to develop an interactive e-module based on the e-IM3 model through the Realistic Mathematical Thinking (RMT) approach in fraction arithmetic operations and to evaluate its validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The research was conducted using a Design Research approach with 20 sixth-grade students at MIN 2 Kota Madiun. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, classroom observations, and learning outcome tests (pre-test and post-test). Data analysis was conducted systematically to assess the e-module's feasibility. The research results showed that the e-module achieved an average validation score of 3.42 out of 4.00 (85.5%), categorized as ‘valid.’ The practicality test indicated that over 85% of students found the e-module engaging, easy to use, and helpful in understanding the material. In terms of effectiveness, the average student score increased from 70 (pre-test) to 87 (post-test), indicating a significant improvement. The conclusion of this study indicates that the interactive e-module based on the e-IM3 model with the MNR approach is valid, practical, and effective as an innovative learning medium for teaching fraction operations in elementary school
