Abstract
This study aims to narrate and explain (1) the use of guided imagination method can improve the descriptive writing skills of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Puhkerep, Rejoso District, Nganjuk Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Puhkerep, Rejoso District, Nganjuk Regency in learning to write descriptions using guided imagination method. This study is a classroom action research using two cycles. The results of this study are (1) the use of guided imagination method can improve the descriptive writing skills of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Puhkerep, Rejoso District, Nganjuk Regency. This is proven by the data from the results of the study on student learning activities in cycle I and cycle II in participating in learning using guided imagination learning method experienced an increase. (2) The learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Puhkerep, Rejoso District, Nganjuk Regency in learning to write descriptions using the guided imagination method show that the average percentage value of learning outcomes for descriptive writing skills in cycle I was 77.78% and in cycle II was 83.33% or an increase of 5.55%.
