Su’ayah. 2025. Improving Short Story Writing Skills Through the Jigsaw Type Cooperative Learning Model Assisted by Audiovisual Media in Fifth Grade Students of SD Negeri Punggur Kecamatan Purwosari Kabupaten Bojonegoro. Thesis. Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun (UNIPMA). Supervisor I: Dr. Bambang Eko Hari Cahyono, M.Pd. Keywords: writing, short stories, cooperative, jigsaw, and audiovisual This study aims to describe and explain (1) the application of the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model assisted by audio-visual media in learning to write short stories for fifth-grade students of SDN Punggur Purwosari- Bojonegoro Regency, and the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of SDN Punggur, Purwosari-Bojonegoro Regency in learning to write short stories using the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model assisted by audio-visual media. This type of research is a classroom action research with two cycles. The results of the study show: (1) the implementation of learning to write short stories by applying the jigsaw type cooperative approach assisted by audio-visuals for fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Punggur, Purwosari-Bojonegoro experienced an increase, both in the learning process and the results of writing short stories. The increase in the learning process can be seen from the increase in students' attitude scores in each cycle of learning. (2) the increase in short story writing skills can be seen from the increase in short story writing scores in each cycle. The average score of students before the research was 68. In Cycle I, the average score of students increased by 15% to 75. In Cycle II, the average score of students increased by 10% to 78. Of the 18 students of Class V of SDN Punggur Purwosari- Bojonegoro , 14 students or 81% of students received short story writing scores above the minimum completion criteria.
