Sumarsih. 2025. Application of Inquiry and Video Learning Methods in Teaching Writing Procedural Texts in Grade V of Sdn 2 Banaran, Academic Year 2024/2025. Thesis. Madiun: Master of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisors: (I) Dr. Lulus Irawati, S.S.,M.Pd. (II) Dr. Sigit Ricahyono, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: Writing Skills, Procedural Text, Inquiry Method, Video Media, Writing Learning This study aims to describe the application of the inquiry method through the use of videos in learning to write procedural texts for fifth-grade students of SDN 2 Banaran in the 2024/2025 academic year. The background of the study arises from the low ability of students to compile procedural steps in a coherent and systematic manner, so that a learning approach is needed that can increase student involvement and understanding. The research method used is qualitative research. The subjects of this study were 23 fifth-grade students of SDN 2 Banaran, Pace District, Nganjuk Regency, consisting of 13 female students and 10 male students. The results of the study show that the application of the inquiry method combined with the use of learning videos can increase student activity and learning outcomes in writing procedural texts. Through the inquiry stages, students are encouraged to observe, ask questions, gather information, test steps, and compile procedural texts independently. Learning videos act as visual media that help students understand the sequence of processes concretely. Higher learning focus, as well as active involvement in group discussions. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the inquiry method through the use of videos in learning is effective in improving the writing skills of fifth-grade students of SDN 2 Banaran, Pace District, Nganjuk Regency. This study recommends that teachers use the inquiry method and learning videos as alternative strategies for learning Indonesian to achieve more optimal learning outcomes.
