Keywords: writing, narration, keyword techniques, and image media This study aims to narrate and explain (1) the application of keyword technique assisted by image media can improve narrative writing in fifth-grade students of SDN 2 Prayungan, Lengkong District, Nganjuk Regency and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of SDN 2 Prayungan, Lengkong District, Nganjuk Regency in learning to write narratives using keyword technique assisted by image media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are: (1) the application of keyword technique assisted by image media can improve narrative writing in fifth-grade students of SDN 2 Prayungan, Lengkong District, Nganjuk Regency. This is proven by the achievement of a number of predetermined indicators. The achievement of these indicators includes increased activity, attention and concentration, as well as interest and motivation of students in the learning process. In addition, the shortcomings encountered in cycle I can be overcome well by the teacher in cycle II. In cycle II, students are more active during the learning process, students pay more attention to the teacher's explanation and have high motivation in learning., and (2) The learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SDN 2 Prayungan, Lengkong District, Nganjuk Regency in learning to write narratives using keyword techniques assisted by image media have increased. This is evidenced by the average score of student learning outcomes in cycle I with a score of 68. In cycle II, the average score of student learning outcomes increased to a score of 94. Learning completeness in cycle I was 18 (47%) students achieved learning completeness, while in cycle II as many as 38 (100%) students achieved learning completeness and classical learning completeness was achieved.
