ABSTRACT Muhammad A.H. 2025. Discourse Analysis in Indonesian Language Learning in Grade VI of SD Negeri 1 Manggis, Panggul District, Trenggalek Regency. Thesis. Master of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. Graduate School of PGRI Madiun University (UNIPMA). Supervisor I: Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., Supervisor II: Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, SS, M.Pd Keywords: Discourse, Indonesian Language, Folklore, Elementary School This study aims to 1). Describe the forms of discourse contained in folk tale materials taught in sixth grade, 2). Analyze teachers' strategies in integrating the discourse analysis approach into Indonesian language learning, 3). Reveal students' responses to folk tale learning that involves critical discourse understanding. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive study design. The research subjects include sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Manggis, Panggul District, Trenggalek Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and assessment of student learning outcomes. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that 1) the discourse form that appears in folk tale material in Indonesian language learning in grade VI of SD Negeri 1 Manggis is dominated by narrative discourse combined with dialogic and explanatory discourse, 2) the teacher's strategy in teaching folk tale material using a discourse analysis approach was carried out through active, dialogic, and directed classroom interaction management, 3). students' responses to the discourse analysis-based learning approach in folk tale material showed a positive trend.
