Abstract
Dwi Mahfud Sulaiman. 2025. Integration of Interactive Technology in Short Story Learning (Case Study in Grade IV of SD Negeri 1 Bendoagung, Kampak District, Trenggalek Regency. Thesis. Master of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. Graduate School of PGRI Madiun University (UNIPMA). Supervisor I: Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., Supervisor II: Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, SS, M.Pd Keywords: interactive technology, short story learning, Indonesian language, elementary school, case study. This study aims to describe the integration of interactive technology in short story (cerpen) learning, students’ engagement in interactive technology-based short story learning, as well as the challenges and solutions in its implementation in Grade IV of SD Negeri 1 Bendoagung, Kampak District, Trenggalek Regency. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation including teaching modules, learning media, and students’ work. The results indicate that the integration of interactive technology in short story learning has been implemented in a planned and systematic manner in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum. Interactive technology is utilized as an initial learning stimulus, a primary medium for content comprehension, and an evaluation tool. The use of interactive technology enhances students’ cognitive, affective, and behavioral engagement. Students show greater enthusiasm, participate more actively in discussions, and demonstrate better understanding of short story elements. Furthermore, interactive technology contributes positively to the development of students’ language skills, particularly listening, reading comprehension, speaking, and writing skills. The challenges encountered include limited facilities, time constraints, and students’ varying technical abilities. These challenges are addressed through adaptive teaching strategies, such as combining technology with conventional methods and preparing alternative learning media. In conclusion, the integration of interactive technology in short story learning is effective in improving the quality of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools and in fostering active, contextual, and student-centered learning.
