Abstract

Learning IPAS (Natural and Social Sciences) in Grade VI at SD Negeri Banjarejo, Madiun City, revealed real problems in the form of low student motivation and learning outcomes. Initial observations showed that most students were less active and less enthusiastic during the learning process, and their achievement scores had not met the Minimum Mastery Criterion (75). This condition indicates that the instructional methods used had not fully accommodated students’ characteristics and the demands of learning in the digital era. Therefore, this study aimed to improve students’ learning motivation and learning outcomes in IPAS through the implementation of blended learning. This study employed a quantitative approach using Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 28 sixth-grade students of SD Negeri Banjarejo. The data sources were derived from students and the learning process. Data collection techniques included observation, learning motivation questionnaires, and IPAS achievement tests. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis by comparing the results of the pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II. The results showed that the implementation of blended learning effectively improved students’ motivation and learning outcomes. The average IPAS learning score increased from 62.64 in the pre-cycle to 77.76 in Cycle I and further improved to 86 in Cycle II. Classical learning mastery also increased from 21.43% in the pre-cycle to 67.86% in Cycle I and reached 89.29% in Cycle II. Students’ learning motivation improved from a low category in the pre-cycle to a moderate category in Cycle I and a high category in Cycle II. These findings indicate that blended learning is effective in enhancing motivation and learning outcomes in IPAS for elementary school students.
