Abstract
This study aims to improve simple sentence writing skills in first-grade students of SD Negeri 2 Bagorwetan using flash cards. This study involved 22 first-grade students of SD Negeri 2 Bagorwetan in the odd semester of the 2025- 2026 academic year. The research method used in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. This research was conducted in two cycles. The first and second cycles each consisted of the four stages mentioned above. The results showed an average student learning outcome in writing simple sentences in class. In Cycle I, it was 54%, and in Cycle II, it was 86%. It can be concluded that there was an increase in the average score of students' writing ability in constructing sentences based on pictures using flashcards. There was also an increase in students' enthusiasm and motivation to participate in learning, as well as their sense of responsibility and cooperation in completing assignments given by the teacher.
