Anita Windriyani. 2025. Improving the Ability to Write Poetry Using the SAVI Approach Based on Outdoor Learning for Class V Students of SDN 4 Kebonagung, Sawahan District, Nganjuk Regency. Theses. Indonesian Master of Language and Literature Education Study Program, Post Graduate Program, Universitas PGRI Madiun, Advisor I) Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd; (II) Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, SS, M.Pd. Keywords: writing, poetry, SAVI, and outdoor learning This research aims to describe and explain (1) the application of the SAVI approach based on outdoor learning can improve the poetry writing ability of class V students at SDN 4 Kebonagung, Sawahan District, Nganjuk Regency and (2) the activities of class V students at SDN 4 Kebonagung, Sawahan District, Nganjuk Regency in learning to write. poetry uses the SAVI approach based on outdoor learning. This research is classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this research are (1) The SAVI approach based on outdoor learning can improve poetry writing ability as seen from the poetry writing ability data from cycle I, namely with a value of 77.8 increasing in cycle II to 81.7. The SAVI approach based on outdoor learning has been able to improve the poetry writing ability of students in class V of SDN 4 Kebonagung, Sawahan District, Nganjuk Regency, which has increased above the KKM, namely 76. The results show in cycle I, namely 80.3 and the average in cycle II increased to 82.8, and (2) Student activities experienced an increase in student scores. Affective scores for students were in cycle I with a score of 84.6 to 86.7 in cycle II. This of course means that students' creativity and sense of responsibility are more visible. Students' enthusiasm for learning has changed for the better. The student's psychomotor score, namely in cycle I with a score of 78.3, increased to 79.9 in cycle II. Students become more interested in listening to poetry readings, writing poetry, revising with friends, and observing pictures to make a work, namely poetry.
