Abstract

The background of this research is; (1). The prose writing skills of fifth-grade elementary school students are still low and lack creativity. (2). Students' self-regulation in the writing process has not developed optimally. (3). The learning environment does not fully support prose writing activities. (4). Previous research still examined self-regulation and the learning environment separately. This research aims to; (1). Explain the influence of self-regulation on the prose writing skills of fifth-grade elementary school students in Cluster 1, Sawahan District, Nganjuk Regency, (2). Explain the influence of the learning environment on the prose writing skills of fifth-grade elementary school students in Cluster 1, Sawahan District, Nganjuk Regency, (3). Explain the simultaneous influence between self-regulation and the learning environment on the prose writing skills of fifth-grade elementary school students in Cluster 1, Sawahan District, Nganjuk Regency. The research method used is quantitative. Casual Associative Research Design. The population and sample in this study were 95 fifth-grade elementary school students in Cluster 1, Sawahan District, Nganjuk Regency. The data obtained were then analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques. Based on the data analysis that has been conducted, the following results were obtained: (1) There is an influence of self-regulation on the prose writing skills of fifth-grade students of public elementary schools in Cluster 1, Sawahan District, Nganjuk Regency, (2) There is an influence of the learning environment on the prose writing skills of fifth-grade students of public elementary schools in Cluster 1, Sawahan District, Nganjuk Regency, and (3) There is a simultaneous influence between self-regulation and the learning environment on the prose writing skills of fifth-grade students of public elementary schools in Cluster 1, Sawahan District, Nganjuk Regency.
